Arriving in Belize from North America is very simple

Most visitors reach Belize City via daily flights from Miami, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Atlanta, or Charlotte, NC on American, Continental, Taca, Delta, and US Airways. Once you have arrived at the Goldson International Airport in Belize City, there are regular scheduled flights to Placencia several times a day offered by Maya Island Airways and Tropic Air. The flight takes about 40 minutes. From Placencia Airport to Sunset Pointe takes about ten minuets by taxi or boat. There is in the near future a plan to expand the airport at Placencia to accommodate larger planes from Cancun.

You can also take a very beautiful drive to Placencia. Go west on the Western Highway, then east across the Mayan Mountains on the Hummingbird Highway, then south down the Southern Highway to the Peninsula Road where the beauty of the Caribbean Sea on one side and the lagoon on the other side is overwhelming. The drive takes about three hours. The roads are all paved.

Belize proves that great things come in small packages. No other country in Central America offers so much for so little effort in such a tiny land mass. Add to this the environmentally caring infrastructure, a helpful tourist board, and some of the friendliest and most laid back people in the world, and you soon realize that Belize really does have it all.
